BRAAAP

UI Design

Objectives From The Brief

In support of a promotional initiative, the chosen brand, Africology, is hosting an online competition. Our task is to craft a captivating microsite that not only boosts awareness but also motivates visitors to participate in the competition. The site should feature an intuitive user interface, ensuring a seamless and straightforward entry process for participants.

My Concept

Introducing "Braaap" – a motocross application born from a desire to inject personality into my portfolio. While not a hardcore motocross enthusiast myself, I appreciate the thrill of navigating dirt tracks. Focused on addressing the challenge of scarce enduro riding venues in South Africa, Braaap serves as a solution. Its UI design not only tackles the scarcity issue but also reflects my personal connection to the project.

Functionality-wise, the app syncs with a rider's smartwatch, monitoring metrics and projecting trail maps. Inspired by racing aesthetics, the visual elements feature dynamic typography and a red, white, and black color palette. Designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of motocross riders, Braaap remains impartial, offering options for various styles. The app encourages community engagement by allowing users to contribute new trails, fostering a dynamic and evolving experience. With features for tracking achievements and a historical overview of past rides, Braaap caters to riders seeking both adventure and progress monitoring.
